Hybrid Weighted Least Square Multi-Verse Optimizer (WLS–MVO) Framework for Real-Time Estimation of Harmonics in Non-Linear Loads

The electric power quality has become a serious concern for utilities and end users owing to its undesirable effects on system capabilities performance. Harmonic levels systems have been pronounced greater extent with the continuous growth in application of solid-state reactive compensatory devices. Harmonics are key constituents that mainly responsible deterioration. Power harmonics need be correctly estimated filtered increase quality. This research work focuses accurate estimation proposed hybrid weighted least-square multi-verse optimizer (WLS–MVO) based framework. Multi-verse replicates phenomenon formation new universes as described by theory solve complex real-world optimization problems. WLS–MVO framework is tested validated estimating present multiple test signals different noise levels. Amplitudes phases polluted signal were estimated, computational time was compared previously developed technique’s results which reported literature. There 80% reduction 82% improvement terms accuracy using techniques. performance further real-time voltage current waveforms obtained from axial flux permanent magnet generator (AFPMSG), uninterruptible supply (UPS), light-emitting diode (LED). purposed technique outperforms already-developed techniques, time.
